Mark Liponis, MD
Dr. Liponis is Medical Director of Canyon Ranch Health Resorts, with destination resorts in Lenox, Massachusetts and Tucson, Arizona, and Spa Clubs in Las Vegas, Kissimmee, Florida, and aboard the brand new Queen Mary II. Canyon Ranch is also currently building our first healthy living community - Canyon Ranch Living in Miami Beach.
At Canyon Ranch Dr. Liponis has also helped develop specialty health programs in Optimal Living, Weight Loss, Smoking Cessation and Stress Management. Dr. Liponis lectures regularly on topics including Avoiding Alzheimer's Disease, Optimal Health, Making Menopause Easy, Preventing and Reversing Heart Disease, Osteoporosis, and Ultraprevention.
Classically trained in Internal Medicine, Dr. Liponis is currently board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and also formerly in Critical Care Medicine. He received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and completed his specialty training in Internal Medicine at Berkshire Medical Center. Dr. Liponis completed his undergraduate education at Dartmouth College, where he graduated with honors. He is also a cum laude graduate of Phillips Andover Academy.
Dr. Liponis acquired a wealth of clinical experience in private practice in Internal and Critical Care Medicine in Butte, Montana. There he also founded and developed a successful preventive health and weight loss program that continues to help people. For the past 12 years he has taken a special interest in nutrition, preventive and integrative medicine.
